God, our world has been shattered.
The darkness is so dark.
The Pit has opened it’s mouth and we are on the edge looking into the depths.
We hope for light to come bursting out, but it does not.
There is no bursting bright light.
No illuminating all of our darkness.
You promise that even the dark is not dark to you.
But it is dark to us.
We move timidly, not knowing what ground is solid.
But pit is so vast, waiting to swallow us: we know that we must move. We must escape.
Show us where you are, God.
Call to us in the darkness.
Shine a dim light for us so that we may find you, and may turn toward you.
One day, God, we will again be able to bask in your brightness. But for now, we ask only for a small light to lead us home. MEH
